Frequently Asked Questions

No. We only use in house, qualified electricians with extensive training and knowledge.

Not only does solar reduce your carbon footprint but it directly offsets your daily power usage and depending on how much power you use you may also get paid for what you feed back to the grid.

Batteries can be an expensive upfront cost but in the long run are a smart investment as they turn your electricity bills to zero. We always recommend to check the batteries warranty to ensure you are covered for years to come.

To get the most out of your system ensure your system is designed to get the most power input when you need it and choose an energy provider that has a high feedback tariff (don’t worry we will help you with all of these). Another great tip is when you can stick to using your appliances during the day.

The average is 3-4 years but this does vary depending on product, complexity of the installation, your usage and energy provider rate you are on.

We recommend having your panels cleaned once every 12 -24 months depending on the environment surrounding your home.

A smart meter tells you what energy your house is using as well as what your solar is producing and what amount is being fed back to the grid. All of this can be seen on your app. It is a great tool for home owners to have to understand their usage and without this you will only be able to see the amount your solar is producing. We include smart meters into all of our installs for free as we feel this is a must have.

We do not have set prices as solar isn’t one size fits all. We tailor a package that is best for you depending on a range of factors such as your households consumption, personal needs and roof space/type.

While we value time the same as you do and are known to be punctual sometimes things do come up. If our team is running behind schedule you will always receive a call to update you and schedule a new time.

There are alot of factors to consider when choosing a system – go with a reputable brand with great warranties, certified designers and installers (CEC Accredited) known for quality, for system size it is best for a consultant to look at your power bill and determine the right sized system for your households needs. Solar is a longterm investment so we recommend to do the research, ask the questions and steer clear of any pushy sales teams and deals that are too good to be true.

Systems under 13.3kWs are completed with in a day any system over this we generally say two days.

The government provide a STC rebate and the amount varies depending on your system size. The STC amount reduces every calendar year. At CDC we claim this for you and use it to offset your installation bill.
